Caroline Abbey

In addition to co-managing the BFYR team, Caroline Abbey acquires select titles in the picture book, middle grade, and young adult categories. She is a commercial reader who looks for strong hooks alongside strong writing and she loves humor at any age level. Recent and forthcoming titles include HippopotaMESS, by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen and illustrated by Michael Slack, When Tomorrow Burns, by Tae Keller, and The Color of a Lie, by Kim Johnson. Caroline gravitates toward picture books with silly word play and read aloud potential, and middle grade and YA that ask big questions about the world and coming of age within a grounded and relatable story.
