Daniela Cortes

Daniela Cortes is interested in building a list, starting with fiction picture books that carry uplifting stories about underrepresented communities. Daniela has worked with the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino on their picture books My Sister’s Quinceañera and Please Pass the Tamales, along with their Spanish editions. She is also the editor of the upcoming Bedtime Nursery Rhymes series, beginning with Rock-a-Bye Monsters, a bedtime routine book with a Halloween twist on the classic lullaby “Rock-a-Bye Baby.” She especially loves heartwarming, slice-of-life stories about diverse families, bonding, and traditions, both old and new. She’s also interested in contemporary and grounded middle grade horror that explores identity, belonging, and growing up. She loves funny, heartfelt stories with relatable characters that help readers grow and feel represented.
