Tessa Rudolph

Tessa Rudolph is an assistant editor from Los Angeles, CA. A graduate of Wellesley College with a BA in English, she joined the Knopf/ASB team in 2023. She is seeking upmarket, character-driven fiction and nonfiction across all age categories. Voice is the deciding factor for her, always, when she’s considering a new manuscript. If the voice grabs her from the first page, she doesn’t particularly care if a book is fantasy or stark realism, if it’s set in the past or the present — she’s just happy to let the writing sweep her away. In the picture book space, she’d love to find more stories that depict LGBTQ identities in accessible, kid-friendly ways. She also adores illustrated poems. In YA and middle grade, she’s always a sucker for a good coming-of-age novel, for stories about complicated families, and for just about anything set in Los Angeles. No matter the format or target audience, she’s always looking for work from marginalized voices.
